NSE Partners Action 2015 To Empower Children On Financial Literacy0
The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) has partnered Action 2015 Campaign Coalition to enlighten and mentor school children on financial literacy and dangers of early marriages. Action 2015 Campaign Group is a coalition of over 1600 organisations around the world who are committed to fighting for a better future by maximising pressure on world leaders to ensure that 2015 truly is a year of action and change.
Addressing school children on the floor of the Exchange, Head, Action 2015 campaign coalition, Mr. Ojugo Onyelukachukwu, said the initiative was in recognition of the strategic role of qualitative education in stimulating socioeconomic development of society. The enlightenment touched on topics like importance of education for African child, how to start saving, benefits of saving, knowledge and planning skills.
It is believed that the training would go a long way in preparing the students for life after school.
“We see ourselves as a catalyst for progressive change. Everything we do as an organisation is tailored towards making you move from where you are to the next level. This mission is evident in our pay-off line,” Onyelukachukwu said.
The partnership was part of the activities marking the Day of African Child – which is a day celebrated every year since 1991, honouring those who participated in the Soweto uprising in 1976. It also raises awareness of the continuing need for improvement of the education provided to African children.
