Automedics originated seven years ago as a radio programme with which Kunle Shonaike (a returnee automotive mechatronics engineer with decades of practise experience in the United States of America) wanted to effect positive cultural and practise changes in how vehicle owners and auto technicians respectively get to effectively use and work on modern automobiles in Nigeria.

What commenced as a radio programme then took a life of its own when it started attracting other experts and dilettanti of automotive engineering who were also desirous of seeing the average Nigerian motorist get value-for-money on his or her vehicular investment and the average Nigerian auto technician get skills-upgrade training that will afford him or her the competence cum confidence to work on modern vehicles.

Strategic Officers:

Kunle Shonaike: is the founder and CEO. He trained in the US and practised extensively with major employers in the US and Canada before starting and running his main-street auto repair chain in Los Angeles, California; Phoenix, Arizona; and Atlanta, Georgia.

Gbola Oba: is the COO. Until he literally took over the transmutation of Automedics from a purely radio programme to an entity that now runs a human capital development programme in the automotive trades, he was a TV broadcaster in Europe with years of journalism and PR experience for major African and Afro-Caribbean high-net worth personalities across the EU-zone, Africa and the Caribbean.

Ben Okoh: is the Director Workshop Services. He has more than two decades of hands-on experience in virtually all areas and sectors of the automotive maintenance/repair business in Nigeria. He’s one of the best known voices and faces of the Automedics brand.

YemiAdeduro: is the Director of Training who flies in regularly from his base in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, to enrich our training institute’s academic cum practical profile. His last employment, before his voluntary retirement to start experimenting with “trial relocation” to Nigeria, was as a senior lecturer with Atlanta Technical College, Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Oladipo Abiodun: is a founding non-executive Director of Automedics Limited (who functions more now as the ED Marketing & Strategy). He is a veteran of many management suites in Nigeria Plc (Coca-Cola, DHL, etc) and he garnered a rich automobile marketing stint with Toyota Nigeria; where he spent 8 years with many local and international training programmes in automobile sales and marketing.

KehindeEkisola: is the Director of Spare Parts and Trading Services of the company. A trained accountant with about 30 years working experience in diverse areas of import and export trade, whose sense of judgement and profound entrepreneurial net- works have tremendously enriched the company’s trading endeavours.

Automedics City-to-City Seminar Series & Mobile Auto Clinic:

The popularity of the radio programmes and the national newspaper column has culminated in an itinerant city-to-city seminar series and mobile auto-diagnosis clinic which has visited a number of cities nationwide to facilitate skills upgrade training for practising auto technicians and help motorists understand the condition of their vehicular assets better. This outreach is always in high demand by followers of Automedics’ skills empowerment programmes and automobile owners. Corporate sponsors get good mileage for money on the back of this programme.

Brand Activation Consultancy:

The platform of the mobile seminar series (usually sponsored by corporate entities) has served as a brand activation platform for companies wanting to introduce their products/services’ unique values to auto technicians and motorists across the cities where it has been held.

Training Institute:

We run an automotive mechatronics training institute for auto technicians who wish to improve their skills on how to work on modern vehicles and young school leavers/graduates who wish to acquire employability/entrepreneurial skills across some specialist trades of the auto maintenance/repair industry.

We are the training consultants to the Lagos State Technical & Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB) and the National Open University of Nigeria Centre for Lifelong Learning & Workplace Training (NOUN CLL&WT)
