0

skillsThe Industrial Training Fund, (ITF) has tasked trainees under its training programmes to brace up and live up to the high academic and performance standards expected of them, so as to contribute their quota towards national development.

This admonition came, even as the ITF explained that it was committed towards its objectives of producing middle and high level skilled manpower that will drive the nation’s economy forward, through the provision of global standards technical and vocational education that would eradicate unemployment, particularly amongst youths.

Speaking on how the fund is initiating proactive measures to achieve its mandate, the Director General of ITF, Dr. Juliet Chukkas-Onaeko, said students under its training programmes are challenged to impart knowledge provided by the fund, and take charge of leading the nation and the continent into an era of sustainable economic development.

Advising the students against activities that are capable of derailing their goals in life, she urged the beneficiaries of the fund’s training opportunities to consider themselves opporturned, considering that ITF graduates still remains “hot cakes” in terms of employment, job creation and entrepreneurship in the nation’s industrial sector.

Chukkas-Onaeko assured students undergoing skill acquisition training that the agency remains committed to providing effective training for qualified Nigerian students, irrespective of their background, adding excellence and high standards will continue to define the activities of the fund.
